Redevelopment Work & Economic Development Incentives

The Firm has significant experience in development and ‎redevelopment projects including mixed use projects, apartment complexes, residential subdivisions, ‎condominiums, office buildings, shopping centers, retail strip centers, senior assisted living centers, ‎industrial properties, hotels and parking garages. The Firm is familiar with government sponsored development incentives and has experience assisting clients with economic ‎development incentives and other governmental benefits and incentives. The Firm has represented clients in the formation and implementation of special benefit ‎districts, community improvement districts (CIDs), neighborhood improvement districts (NIDs), transportation ‎development districts (TDDs), tax increment financing districts (“TIF”), tax abatement, Missouri’s Chapter 353 “private condemnation” provisions, and similar and ‎state and federal tax credit programs to implement real estate projects.

The Firm also havs experience involving state and local tax credit programs such as low income housing tax credits and historic tax credits. Michael Mannion surved as General Counsel and Vice President of a national real estate development company which invested in and developed affordable housing projects through the use of low income housing tax credits in conjunction with some of the country’s largest financial institutions and insurance companies and ultimately was involved in the sale/disposition of such affordable multi-family apartment projects.
